The Baltimore Blast have announced the re-signing of nine year veteran goalkeeper William Vanzela to a new contract. Per team and league policies, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Vanzela, 35, will be entering his tenth season of professional arena soccer, all with the Blast. Proven to be the top goalkeeper in the indoor game, Vanzela has been part of four Blast championships and been a mainstay in the nets for Baltimore. One of the Blast’s most popular players, Vanzela’s community relations has grown as much as his indoor game. His “Born To Fly” training is helping to shape the next generation of Baltimore players.
Coach David Bascome stated “William has been a stakeholder on the Baltimore Blast and has proven to be the number one goalkeeper in this league for many years. His passion, dedication and desire to the game has been the reason he has had great success on and off the field. William’s great performances on the field is not the only appreciation I have for him, it is his ability to help and support the young people and their families in the Baltimore community. As a coach, it is always great to have one of the toughest positions on the field secure with a player of his ability.”
William is the best goalkeeper in the game and a Baltimore legend!! ⚽️💛❤️
