Machel Millwood, Baltimore Blast
Machel Millwood, a five-year veteran of the Blast, recorded seven points Saturday night in Baltimore’s 16-10 win over the Philadelphia KiXX at 1st Mariner Arena. Millwood scored three goals (his first hat trick of the season) and added one assist to lead the Blast to its fourth win of the season. His two first-quarter goals kicked off a four-goal run that put the Blast on top 8-0 early in the match. With 16 points in four games (seven goals and two assists), Millwood leads the Blast and ranks fourth in the NISL in points this season. He also leads the League with his seven two-point goals and is tied to lead the League with two power-play goals. Millwood, who played for the Under-17 Jamaican National Team, played college soccer at Towson University.
About the National Indoor Soccer League
The National Indoor Soccer League was launched in September of 2008 and consists of five founding members; the Baltimore Blast, La RaZa de Monterrey, Philadelphia KiXX, Rockford Rampage and the Massachusetts Twisters. The NISL has formed a working relationship with the United Soccer Leagues (USL) and will become a member of the United States Soccer Federation (USSF).
The NISL kicked off its inaugural season on November 15th and will continue through March with the playoffs taking place the first two weeks of April.
